Our filtration glass, designed for the use of pool filtration, is manufactured from 100% recycled soda lime glass.
The Pure Glass Media product has several advantages over the traditional silica sand filtration material. Our product reduces the time your pool will take during the backwash cycle, saving costs on time and expenses on both your water and electricity bills. Thereby benefiting our customers’ pockets.
Our product is also a by-product of the recycling process. Not only are there great benefits to the user, but the effect on the environment is also significantly reduced.

No Channelling
A common problem with traditional silica sand filtration occurs when channels start to form in the sand. Water is pushed through these channels, creating valley-like paths throughout the filtration media. Water ends up moving through these channels, reducing any filtration before moving back into the pool. This also leads to increased back pressure on the pump.
Due to the natural physical properties of the filtration glass, the individual particles do not compact or attach to one another. This prevents the problem of channelling from taking place, which enables the filtration glass to still provide similar filtration two to three years after it was first placed in the tank.
No Build-Up
Due to the crystalline nature of the glass, there is a significant reduction in bacteria within the system. This also allows for fine particle filtration, which results in less bio-mass build-up and an increase in overall efficiency.
The glass filtration media can also handle pets fur, fine sand and other debris that usually clocks in silica sand filtration media.
Decreased Chemical Cost
The glass filtration media removes all the bio-film instead of pumping the bacteria back into the pool.
This will significantly reduce the chemical costs for
your filtration, saving money on disinfection and
flocking products.
Longer Life Span
Even with all these benefits one will assume that glass filtration media has a shorter life span than silica sand however, that is not the case as another benefit of the glass filtration media it has a longer life span than silica sand.

Our products are free of silica. Why is this important? Abrasive blasting with sand containing crystalline silica can cause serious or fatal respiratory disease.
However, our products are completely free of any crystalline silica and therefore cannot cause silicosis.

Our products are made from completely recycled glass products. Other products may claim that they are environmentally friendly, but our product is developed to be a salvaged product of the recycling process.
Thereby we are creating a secondary resources economy around the valorisation of waste as part of the circular economy. This is extremely important for the South Africa economy that there is more circular system within our economy to build a more sustainable economy in these uncertain times.
